Tapestries

I began this series at Wheaton Arts in Millville, NJ on a residency in 2007. I applied for the fellowship in order to make my jewelry on a larger scale. My jewelry serves as models and experiments for my sculpture. I wanted to make glass into something that is soft and tactile. People tell me that my tapestries remind them of armor. Although I didn’t intend them this way, I think that they served as protection for me at the time I made them. I named them after events that shaped me in the period of time that I made them. I have only made 5 and worked and reworked them over a period of 5 years.
