… a Dream the Day After:
Is a new series of work that I created from 2012 through 2013. All of these pieces are components of an installation I am working on this year. The sculptures are made from glass, paper, eggshells and fruit.
The work talks about how memory is stretched to conform to our perception of reality. “We not only hold in our minds a picture of what we are seeing but an idea of where that picture is relative to everything else we know.”- John Berger.
The black clouds are like faceted mirrors that reflect whatever is around them. The viewer will see themselves and the egg formations around them from multiple perspectives. I also hope to change people’s ideas about material and it’s function.
